A little of what I did over winter break:

Chilled at Phil's house and garage

Used the firepit in his backyard to roast weenies and marshmallows and get together with his friends

And we bowled.  Check out what this guy Scott got.  6 strikes in a row.  Amazing.  I am pretty bad at bowling.

And now its back to school again.

FINALS ARE OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday, December 03, 2006

its 1230am
I am studying for my ochem final on monday. next week is finals week. So much studying to do. Monday is ochem, wednesday is math and bio, and thursday is the horrible horrible physics. So right now up till sunday, its ochem study.

its getting cold here especially 2 days ago when it was 40 F and the winds blowing like 20 mph. I messed up my knee biking to class beginning this week; i guess i just pushed myself too hard up a hill and it was hurting a few days ago and a bruise even formed above the patella, but its healing finally and i can get up from the toilet without pain.

I remember this summer my dad was trying to teach me some ochem to get a headstart. He taught me some nomeclature and some substituents. I was thinking wow how am i going to remember all this. Now im thinking back and i learned alot in just 1 quarter.

I have been playing the guitar alot too. My friend Phil let me borrow his classical guitar and i learned some of "classical gas" by mason williams. My goal is to learn and play fluidly all of classical gas by the time i graduate. Yes the song is that hard. My parents sent me a 12 string epiphone, which Phil restrung to be 6 string, and im learning more of classical gas and some other songs. Mostly fingerpicking songs, i still can't strum very well.

Other than that life is good. I dont know if i want to goto my aunts in SD for winter break. I know they are just being polite in offering but it seems more trouble. Plus i would be nervous to live with someone i dont know and never met, even if they are family. But so far a few of my friends have offered for me to stay with them, and my apartment will be open anyways so i can just stay here, but it'll probably be very lonely.

So at the UCI campus, they are enforcing a no biking from 7am to 7pm law. RETARDED is what i say. On the road that circles the campus there is no biking; if you are, you can be fined up to like $200 i think. You can only bike on the part inside the campus surrounding the park, and there are CRAZY hills on that path, like i even have to get off and walk my bike because its so steep. Also skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, unicycles (yes there are a few ppl that ride unicycles to get to class) wont be allowed at all. So far no one is protesting, not even our worthless student council. There have been cops and CSO's on the road telling bikers to walk their bikes but they can't fine you until spring quarter when they are going to start enforcing the law. I guess they are enforcing that rule because of the HUGE amount of freshman they accepted this year, which are also kicking us out of our apartments next year because UCI adopted a 2 year housing guarentee.
